The Fixer of Spines

Almost any condition or disorder of the human body can be improved and/or resolved by proper chiropractic care. Although chiropractors generally are viewed as neck and back doctors, asthma, digestive disorders, headaches and migraines, numbness, tingling and pain down extremities often can be cleared up through chiropractic, which deals with the entire nervous system, of which the brain is the controller.

Most commonly, patients seek help with neck, shoulder and back pain – but you don’t have to have pain to have dysfunction in some other part of your body. By correcting spinal subluxations, we find that myriad symptoms can disappear. Chiropractic is a natural, holistic mode of care that gets people well without drugs or surgery.

Treatment in Dr. Heeren’s office begins with a thorough examination and an analysis using infrared scanning and X-ray. To identify interference with nerve supply, we use the scanner. We look for spinal subluxations – these occur when a vertebra is out of alignment and interferes with nerve supply on an X-ray. Any condition you have or that you express can be improved upon under chiropractic care by simply restoring proper structure and function to the spine and, in turn, improving the function of your nervous system.

An example: An athletic man in great shape was getting pain in his hip socket. He had seen five different specialists over seven years and received all kinds of care, including injections in his hip socket. His personal trainer referred him to Dr. Heeren. We X-rayed his pelvis (he previously had been told nothing was wrong with his hips). The X-ray showed his pelvis in perfect alignment. Then we looked at his neck. Rather than arcing forward, which is normal, his neck was arcing to the posterior – his C3 vertebra was in reverse position.

Working over about three months, Dr. Heeren was able to correct the subluxation; the patient’s hip socket pain ceased and did not return. To correct subluxations, Dr. Heeren uses an adjustment instrument and a table that has drop mechanisms; the combination of gentle manipulation and gravity eases the vertebra into its proper position. While we cannot explain why a problem in his neck caused pain in his hip, we often find that the site of pain is not necessarily the site of the problem causing that pain. Other damaging health problems can result from a simple misalignment. Regular chiropractic maintenance care ensures the nervous system is functioning at peak performance so you don’t have a catastrophic event.

Dr. Heeren has helped patients resolve disc bulges and herniations, headaches, shoulder issues, frozen shoulder syndrome, sciatica pain, leg pain that interferes with walking, and other issues with regular chiropractic treatment. For assistance with your pain, book an appointment with Dr. Heeren.
